Executive office furniture made to order in Tripoli, Lebanon

What an executive office includes

• Executive desk, often with a side return for a computer or files.
• Credenza or low cabinet behind the desk.
• Storage cabinets or bookshelves.
• A small meeting table with chairs.
• Visitor seating or a sofa corner in larger offices.

Why blockboard and veneer suit office desks

A desk top is a long, wide panel that carries weight all day. Blockboard resists sagging over that span and holds screws firmly, and natural veneer gives it a real wood surface. Using one veneer across the desk, credenza and cabinets makes the room read as one piece of furniture. Solid beech is used where strength matters, such as frames and legs. Read what our furniture is made of for the details.

Planning the layout

• Measure the room, the windows and the door swing, and mark every socket and network point.
• Place the desk facing the door, with light from the side rather than behind the screen.
• Leave about a metre between the desk and the credenza so the chair moves freely.
• Agree cable openings and where equipment will sit before the desk is built.
• Measure the building entrance, stairs and lift for large desk tops.

Choosing the veneer

Dark walnut tones give a formal, traditional office; lighter oak tones feel modern and open. Match the veneer to the flooring, the doors and any existing furniture. With Gallery Elmir the veneer species and colour are chosen by the customer, so an office can follow a company's interior style. Our guide to wood veneer vs solid wood explains the options.
